Growing up at his mother's atelier surrounded by the legendary icons of Parisian fashion—Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Balmain, and André Courrèges—JPK developed an eye for timeless elegance. These weren't just influences; they were family friends, frequent visitors, and part of his creative DNA. Today, that same passion for exceptional design, vibrant prints, and uncompromising quality defines every piece in the Jean-Pierre Klifa collection.
THE ICONIC BUCKET BAG: From 2002 to Timeless Legend
"In 2002, dissatisfaction with existing handbag companies drove me to design my own piece. What started as a solution became a cultural phenomenon. The Bucket Bag became the #1 selling women's handbag in the U.S. (2009, 2010, 2011) with over 200,000 units sold.
Why does it endure? Because it's practical—it's easy to carry during the day or use at night. It's elegant. It's versatile. And critically, it's unchanged. The Bucket Bag today is identical to the one I designed in 2002. Nothing has changed. It's near perfect with high quality hardware. My Bucket Bag hardware is all gold plated, so in five years it looks exactly the same. Durable, non-tarnishing hardware ensures the bag endures beautifully over time.
